The UK has among the best HIV treatment outcomes in the world. However, there are significant barriers preventing people living with HIV from getting the best care possible. The NHS is also changing at a dramatic rate and this has implications for HIV care.
NAT is at the forefront of discourse on HIV and how it is managed in a changing NHS. We are working with commissioners and policy makers to ensure that ongoing changes to the NHS don’t impact negatively on the quality of life of people living with HIV and that good practice in treatment and care is supported. Our recommendations and guidance to Government, NHS staff and people living with HIV, support improvements in health outcomes for people living with HIV.
