The National AIDS Trust team members were always kind, accommodating and incredibly supportive throughout my experience, which really allowed me to feel a part of the team. I would highly recommend volunteering with National AIDS Trust.Yezarni – Fundraising, Communications and Admin Volunteer

National AIDS Trust Student Ambassadors
At a time when public understanding of HIV is in decline, it’s ever more vital that young people know to protect themselves and others. Our Student Ambassadors volunteer their time to help raise awareness and funds at their universities and colleges. You will also play a vital role in tackling the stigma and discrimination that people living with HIV still face.
What activities will I be involved in?
- Educating your student body about HIV and the role National AIDS Trust has in working towards ending HIV by 2030, and tackling discrimination, using our ready-made presentation template.
- Sharing our posters, leaflets, posts, reports and campaigns to promote HIV awareness and inspire others to take action.
- Organising at least one fundraising event in your place of education, for example, to mark World AIDS Day, or by creating a ‘Drag Raise’ event.
- Engaging with student union and university or college staff to gain their support and ensure lasting impact.
What are the benefits of being a student ambassador?
- You’ll learn new skills and experience of event planning, fundraising, campaigning and a general understanding of the charity sector.
- A certificate and letter of achievement, and something to add to your CV
- Your support will be helping the 107,000 people in the UK who are currently living with HIV and helping reach our goal of ending new HIV transmissions in the UK by 2030.
- Your university or college peers will have a better awareness of HIV prevention, testing and treatment, and you will help break down HIV stigma.
