"I had no reason to think I might be HIV positive..."

I was diagnosed in August after several blood tests which proved inconclusive. I had no reason to think I might be HIV positive ... I simply took the test because I was starting out with a new partner. Thank God I did, I have found out while I am still very strong and healthy, and my partner has not contracted the virus. He's been so good to stand by me and stay with me, and we just recently went for a retest...

My life, so far, hasn't changed as much as I would have thought—I've told work, which seemed like a good opportunity to come out, too. They have been very supportive to me in a very stressful time. Friends, too, have been extremely helpful. Life goes on!
