"I have always made a point to ensure that HIV would not stop me getting on with my life."

I have been diagnosed HIV positive in 1984, just over 28 years ago, when I was a young gay man enjoying life to the full in Paris. I have always made a point to ensure that HIV would not stop me getting on with my life, obviously being aware of it and having regular checks to ensure that my health was not suffering. I have been very lucky that I did not need to start medication until 6 years ago when my CD4 count was getting too low. I am on Atripla, 1 pill a day which is very easy to manage. I have a good job, a lovely home that I share with my gorgeous hubby and intend to make full use of my pension when I reach retirement age in 16 years. HIV won't get me and hopefully I'll beat the bastard!
