Preventing HIV

The issue:

HIV transmission can be prevented, but thousands of people are still diagnosed in the UK every year. People at risk urgently need to know how they can avoid getting HIV, and medication that can prevent transmissions, such as PEP and PrEP, must be easily available to them.

What we do:

National AIDS Trust influences national strategy, policy and guidance on preventing HIV transmission. Through research on public spending on HIV prevention, we hold government to account. We have taken legal action to ensure that everyone who needs it can access PrEP. We work with partners to make sure we have high quality HIV prevention services that meet the needs of all key populations.
