"If the NHS did a run-through in UK schools explaining not only about consequences of infection but also prevention of it, that would be a very good thing."

I just think where the education needs to start is in schools… I wish I had known about HIV. I think there's really little knowledge about it. I think, incredibly, sometimes there is no knowledge. I think if the NHS or an association came along and actually had a spokesperson to do a run-through in UK schools explaining not only about consequences of infection but also prevention of it, that would be a very good thing.

This lack of knowledge sometimes gives youngsters a way out because I do believe we've all got to take responsibility for actions, and I'm taking responsibility for mine. I'm positive and I have to live with this for the rest of my life and that's the reality, but there's other people out there that genuinely don't know about it.
