World AIDS Day websiteWorld AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, was the first international health day, held in London in 1988 by a summit of health ministers who realised that a united global effort was required to halt the spread of HIV.
World AIDS Day takes place every year on 1 December
The aim of World AIDS Day is to raise awareness about HIV in order to create a more AIDS aware society. In 2006 the theme was You, Me, Us - we can prevent the spread of HIV and end prejudice.
