Our Patron

Diana, Princess of Wales, made a significant contribution to the National AIDS Trust and the global fight against HIV and AIDS in her role as a patron from 1991 to 1997. Princess Diana's commitment and dedication to raising the profile of HIV helped to challenge HIV stigma around the world.
Today the National AIDS Trust continues Princess Diana's legacy by challenging stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, campaigning for them to have access to the support and care that they need and ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels.
Concert for Diana
To mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death, and as a celebration of her life, Prince William and Prince Harry organised the Concert for Diana, held at Wembley on 1 July 2007.
Proceeds from the concert will go to charities supported by the late Princess including the National AIDS Trust, and to charities of which the Princes are Patrons. By organising the Concert for Diana, Princes William and Harry are therefore continuing Diana's work to help some of the people most in need in the UK and worldwide, including people living with HIV.
The concert raised awareness of HIV worldwide, as, during the concert, footage showing Diana's work with people living with HIV was broadcast.
National AIDS Trust staff, trustees, supporters and volunteers were given the opportunity to attend the Concert for Diana and our Chair, Dame Denise Platt, and Tim Gutteridge, one of the National AIDS Trust team, were given the opportunity to meet the Princes and speak to them about our work.
Deborah Jack, Chief Executive of the National AIDS Trust, comments:
"The National AIDS Trust would like to thank the Princes for helping to raise vital funds and awareness for HIV in the UK by inviting our charity to be a beneficiary of the Concert for Diana. This event was a wonderful celebration of Diana's life and work and a truly memorable day for everyone who attended."
