Better provision for HIV in the NHS:

The National AIDS Trust is committed to campaigning for the NHS to provide the best possible treatment and care for people living with HIV, as well as prevention services to stop new infections. We keep abreast of new developments in the NHS and Department of Health to ensure that HIV is properly addressed at all times.  Recently we have responded to the Health and Wellbeing consultation highlighting the need to include sexual health and HIV in its remit. English HIV and Sexual Health Commissioners' Group:

The National AIDS Trust acts as secretariat to the English HIV and Sexual Health Commissioners' group. This is a professional forum for those engaged in undertaking Sexual Health & HIV Commissioning activities in England. The group works together, and with the Department of Health, to ensure they deliver consistent and high quality services (prevention, treatment, care and support) across the country.

• Sexual Health and HIV: Measures for success in England (September 2007)  - A report produced in partnership with Brook, fpa and THT calling for sexual health to be made a Government priority and suggesting targets for sexual health and HIV in England.

• HIV in Healthcare (2005) - a resource for healthcare professionals giving advice on how to tackle stigma and discrimination and information on their duties under the Disability Discrimination Act.
  
•  HIV in the UK 2006 (May 2006) - an overview of the UK Government's progress on meeting its UK commitments for the UNGASS Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS.
