Volunteer

The National AIDS Trust is the UK's leading independent policy and campaigning charity on HIV and AIDS. As a small organisation we welcome volunteers to help us to stop the spread of HIV and end prejudice.
Achieving this will take time. Can you spare some of yours?
If so, please look below for updated opportunities...
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
1.) Fundraising Volunteer – World AIDS Day Research
We need a volunteer to research potential supporters for our 2008 World AIDS Day campaign in which we try to get as many people involved in raising awareness and money for NAT.
We are hoping to get football clubs, nightclubs, restaurants and universities and colleges involved on a large scale this year to Mark 21 years of NAT, and the 21st World AIDS Day.
- This will be an on-going research project our office in Old Street, London, each element could take up to one/two days. Ideally, we would have a committed volunteer to come in regularly or a few volunteers to take on small pieces of research.
- Volunteers must have confidence, a good telephone manner, attention to detail and good use of internet for research.
- If you would like to volunteer, please send an email requesting an email application form. Please contact Alexandra Friend via info@nat.org.uk.
2.) Communications and Policy Volunteer – Parliamentarian Reception
We need a volunteer to assist with the organisation of a Parliamentarian Reception to highlight 21 years of the National AIDS Trust’s work on HIV.
We need someone to coordinate and post the invitations, follow-up with key MPs, and assist with administrative tasks in the lead up to the event.
- This will be at our office in Old Street, London, from Friday 11 July – Friday 18 July, maybe also more dates later in the year.
- Volunteers must have confidence, a good telephone manner, attention to detail and enthusiasm!
- If you would like to volunteer, please send an email requesting an email application form. Please contact Alexandra Friend via info@nat.org.uk.
What to expect
Whichever areas of our work our volunteers get involved in, we are committed to providing our volunteers with:
- A sense that they are both valued and appreciated
- Challenging and rewarding volunteering opportunities
- A safe working environment
- An induction into the organisation
- Continuing support and supervision
- Relevant "on the job" training
- Reimbursement of agreed expenses
In return, all we ask is that our volunteers:
- Make a genuine commitment
- Uphold our aims and values
- Respect confidentiality
- Inform their supervisor if they cannot attend
- Work as a part of a team
You don't have to give up all your spare time. Just decide how much time you can devote to the National AIDS Trust, and we will find an opportunity that suits you.
